Leonardo Software Update

Updating the Software on your TerrSat Leonardo automatic satellite system.

As a result of unforeseen changes to the satellite operating parameters your TerrSat Leonardo satellite system requires a software update to remain functional. To complete the update you will need to use a new empty micro SD Card with a storage capacity no larger than 32GB as a the unit may not accept a larger card. If you have received a replacement micro SD Card from us for a previous upgrade you may use this card provided that any existing files on the card have been deleted. In both instances follow the steps as outlined below.

  1. Download the three bin files from the link provided below, don’t open them, copy them and paste them onto the micro SD card – https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/c4i2ya1puuhpxsefxkumx/TERRSAT-SOFTWARE-UPDATE-FILES.zip?rlkey=8f00gk83hpwvewdg1kaps64w2&dl=0
  2. Make sure that the satellite dish is in the parked position.
  3. Pull out the inline fuse next to the control box, or switch the 12v supply off, making sure that there is no light on the control panel on which you put the dish up or down.
  4. Insert the updated micro SD card into its slot at the front panel of the control box, you will hear a click, and it will be flush with the front panel. Make sure it is not pushed in sideways, as it could fall into the control box, and it would have to be opened to take the card out. As shown on this photo, in most of the cases, the control box is installed upside down.

5. Replace the fuse, or switch the 12v power on, if you had to switch it off.

6. The control panel DISPLAY will come on, you will hear beep twice, it will show “FLASHING” on the display for a short time, and after a few seconds the display will shut down.

7. Pull the fuse out again, or switch the 12v supply off.

8. Take the micro SD card out by pushing it in, it will click off and come out.

9. Reconnect the 12v supply on

10. Your Satellite dish is ready to use.
